A Department of Justice official called for charges against Dr. Jill Biden after Joe Biden’s cancer diagnosis.
Leo Terrell, senior counselor to the assistant attorney general for civil rights, sparked controversy.
He reposted an X post claiming Jill Biden “knew about President Biden’s health problems” yet “wanted him to run for President.”
Terrell wrote, “Elder abuse! Criminal charges??” while sharing similar posts, per the New York Post.
One post said Jill Biden must explain her role in defrauding the American people and taxpayers.
It called elder abuse a form of domestic violence and defended Joe Biden despite political views.
Another post blamed Jill and others for ignoring Biden’s health, accusing them of elder abuse.
It said if Biden undergoes treatments now, they “should be shot” for seeking attention and status at any cost.
Donald Trump Jr. also joined the controversy, tweeting:
“How did Dr. Jill Biden miss stage five metastatic cancer, or is this another coverup?”
The uproar followed an official statement confirming doctors found a “small nodule” on Biden’s prostate after he reported urinary symptoms.
On Friday, Biden was diagnosed with prostate cancer.
The statement said:
“Last week, President Joe Biden was seen for a new prostate nodule after increasing urinary symptoms.
On Friday, he was diagnosed with prostate cancer, Gleason score 9 (Grade Group 5) with bone metastasis.”
“Though aggressive, the cancer appears hormone-sensitive, allowing effective management.
The President and family are reviewing treatment options with his doctors.”
Medical experts stress the seriousness of a Gleason score of 9.
The Mayo Clinic explains the Gleason score shows how fast prostate cancer is growing, also called the cancer’s grade.
Critics question how such advanced cancer went undetected without earlier intervention.
Many blame Jill Biden for the delay.
President Biden’s annual physicals from 2021 to 2025 did not mention prostate-specific antigen (PSA) screening.
The American Cancer Society recommends PSA tests for all men over 50.
Donald Trump Jr. sparked heated reactions for his remarks but later posted a neutral message:
“Politics aside, we wish him a speedy recovery.”
Still, the initial backlash had already begun.
One critic pointed out:
“Jill Biden has an Ed.D. in Educational Leadership. She’s never claimed to be a medical doctor.”
Another added:
“Why would someone with a doctorate in education know about prostate cancer before doctors?”
A third snapped:
“Probably because she’s a Doctor of Education, not an MD, you imbecile!”
In contrast, President Donald Trump took a measured tone.
He posted on Truth Social:
“Melania and I are saddened by Joe Biden’s diagnosis.
We send our warmest wishes to Jill and the family.
We wish Joe a fast and successful recovery.”
