A group of influencers expecting a lavish day on a $4.5 million yacht got a terrifying surprise when the vessel suddenly began to sink.
On Saturday, May 3, thirty bikini-clad influencers boarded the stunning 63-foot Tecnomar for Lamborghini yacht for a fun-filled day near Miami Beach, Florida. However, their excitement quickly turned to panic when the yacht began sinking near Monument Island, an area known for celebrity homes, including those of Rick Ross, Don Johnson, and Jennifer Lopez.
The incident sparked a swift response from the Seventh Coast Guard District, local police marine patrols, and teams from the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission. Fortunately, all 32 people were rescued safely at Miami Beach Marina without any injuries.
The U.S. Coast Guard Southeast tweeted, “A @USCG Sta #MiamiBeach crew & partner agencies responded to a 63-ft vessel taking on water near Monument Island, rescuing 32 people with no injuries reported around 5 p.m., Saturday.” Commercial salvage teams are now working to retrieve the yacht, which poses no navigational hazard.
The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission will lead the investigation into the incident. While the exact cause of the yacht’s sinking remains unclear, some speculate that the vessel’s overcapacity—designed for only 16 passengers but carrying 32—may have played a role.
As of 2024, Miami Beach continues to draw visitors with its vibrant culture, beautiful beaches, and lively nightlife. According to Mail Online, sources reveal that the yacht was originally built to accommodate just five guests and two crew members.
Despite the chaos, the influencers on board remained surprisingly calm. One woman, in a bold move, clutched a pricey bottle of tequila, declaring, “My baby is safe,” as the yacht sank.
In videos that quickly went viral, many of the women were seen navigating the tense situation while wearing life vests. Coast Guard photos captured the dramatic scene, showing the front of the yacht tilted sharply upward while the back of the vessel was nearly submerged in water.
The Italian Sea Group, in collaboration with a luxury car manufacturer, is reportedly working on a limited edition of the yacht. According to the New York Post, Conor McGregor, the famous MMA athlete, is one of the few owners of this rare boat, having purchased it for several million dollars in 2021.
Orlando continues to attract millions of visitors annually, thanks to its thrilling amusement parks, diverse entertainment options, and ideal weather. As of 2024, this vibrant city remains one of Florida’s most popular tourist destinations.
