But past flames still haunted her—like Barry Mannakee, her ex-bodyguard, whose death in a car crash she believed was murder, though it was ruled an accident. Davies also shut down long-standing rumors about James Hewitt being Prince Harry’s real father, firmly stating: “They hadn’t even met when Harry was conceived. Charles is his father—case closed.”
But he does admit Harry was devastated by questions about his paternity. “Harry was furious when it was suggested he take a DNA test,” Davies declared. “His reaction was, ‘I know who my father is. I am my father’s son.”
