Tulsi Gabbard accuses three intel officials of leaking classified info as Trump’s administration cracks down. One leaked to the Washington Post, another to the New York Times, and she’s targeting a third “traitor.”
Gabbard announced, “A third criminal referral is on its way,” suspecting the Washington Post benefited from the latest leak.
While the details of the leaked information remain undisclosed, this action sends a clear warning to other potential leakers: don’t share classified material with the media.
Top officials in the Pentagon and the Department of Homeland Security have also launched internal probes into leaks, with some considering polygraphs to identify culprits.
Gabbard, 44, stated, “Politicizing intelligence and leaking classified information threatens our nation’s security. This must stop. Those responsible will be held fully accountable.”
She added, “I look forward to working with the Justice Department and FBI to investigate, fire, and prosecute these criminals.”
Gabbard accused the leakers of trying to undermine President Trump’s agenda.
This push for prosecution follows Gabbard’s creation of a new task force last month aimed at ending unauthorized disclosures of classified intelligence.
Gabbard revealed she was investigating a “leaker within the IC” who shared info on Israel/Iran with the Washington Post.
The Office of the Director of National Intelligence sent a criminal referral to the Justice Department, which will forward it to the FBI for a formal investigation.
A source added, “We are aggressively investigating other leaks and will issue more criminal referrals as needed. Any leaker should take this as a warning.”
Meanwhile, the Department of Defense is probing potential leaks, especially after Secretary Pete Hegseth and others were linked to Signal chats with Atlantic editor Jeffrey Goldberg.
Recently, the Department fired Deputy Chief of Staff Darin Selnick, adviser Dan Caldwell, and Colin Carroll. Caldwell and Selnick were escorted off the premises.
In response, the trio released a statement expressing their “incredible disappointment” with how their service at the Department of Defense ended. They condemned the “baseless attacks” on their character.
They said, “Unnamed Pentagon officials have slandered us with baseless attacks as we leave.”
The trio continued, “All three of us served our country honorably in uniform. For two of us, that included deployments to Iraq and Afghanistan. Our collective service taught us the importance of information security, and we worked every day to protect it.”
