Donald Trump’s approval ratings keep sliding as he hits 100 days into his second term.
A recent ABC poll shows just 39% of voters approve of him, while 55% disapprove. Shockingly, this marks the lowest approval rating for any president at this point in 80 years.
A new Washington Post and Ipsos poll released Sunday shows just 39% of Americans approve of Trump’s job performance, while 55% disapprove.
This marks the worst 100-day approval rating since Harry S. Truman in 1945.
Many participants blamed the economy for their disappointment. They tied the crashing stock market to Trump’s controversial “Liberation Day” tariff announcement.
A staggering 73% believe the economy is in bad shape, and 53% think it has worsened under Trump’s leadership.
Meanwhile, only 31% trust his claim that the tariffs will lead to long-term gains.
A New York Times and Siena College survey of over 900 voters, released last week, revealed growing frustration with Trump’s leadership.
About 54% of respondents said they disapprove of how he’s handling the economy, immigration, foreign trade, and the Russia-Ukraine war.
At the same time, nearly 70% believe the Democratic Party is out of touch with everyday Americans. Meanwhile, 64% said the same about the Republican Party.
CNN pollster Harry Enten revealed that Trump’s net approval among independents has worsened, dropping from -16% in 2017 to -22% in 2025 — breaking his own record.
Enten explained, “Independents oppose Trump on almost everything — the economy, tariffs, overall leadership. They simply don’t like what he’s saying.”
Meanwhile, Goldman Sachs CEO David Solomon warned that Trump’s tariffs have heightened the risk of a U.S. recession.
During a recent earnings call, Solomon told analysts, “We are entering Q2 with a far more challenging operating environment than earlier this year.”
