President Donald Trump is facing fresh backlash online after it was revealed he’s been taking advice from far-right activist Laura Loomer.
Loomer, 31, reportedly met with Trump in the Oval Office this week, where she offered a list of names she believes should be ousted from his circle — citing what she claims is evidence of disloyalty.
Sources say Loomer came prepared, handing Trump detailed research files on various government officials — including staffers from the NSA and National Security Council — urging him to remove anyone she deemed insufficiently loyal.
Shortly after the meeting, both NSA Director Gen. Timothy Haugh and his civilian deputy, Wendy Noble, were dismissed from their roles.
Loomer took to X to confirm and celebrate the firings, writing: “NSA Director Tim Haugh and his deputy Wendy Noble have been disloyal to President Trump. That is why they have been fired… Thank you, President Trump, for being receptive to the vetting materials provided to you and for firing these Biden holdovers.”
Trump confirmed to reporters that Loomer had offered suggestions but denied she played a direct role in any personnel decisions.
“Laura Loomer is a very good patriot. She’s a very strong person, and I saw her yesterday for a little while,” Trump said on Thursday, April 4. “She makes recommendations of things and people, and sometimes I listen to those recommendations, like I do with everybody. I listen to everybody, and then I make a decision.”
But his comments didn’t sit well online. Critics quickly slammed the idea of taking advice from Loomer, with one user writing, “Trump taking career advice from Laura Loomer is like asking a pyromaniac to recommend fire insurance—totally normal, not crazy at all.”
Another posted, “Looney Loomer… unbelievable,” while a third added, “The Republican Party has been reduced to this.”
One person summed it up: “Listening to Loomer about government jobs is a wee bit crazy.”
Let me know if you want to adjust the tone — more neutral, biting, or satirical.

In response to the backlash, Loomer returned to X, announcing she would be “releasing more names of individuals who should not be in the Trump administration due to their questionable loyalty and past attacks on President Trump.”
Loomer has a well-documented history of spreading misinformation, including a false claim that President Joe Biden had a medical emergency after landing at Joint Base Andrews in July 2024.
Meanwhile, just three months into Trump’s second term, he continues to draw ridicule over a series of eyebrow-raising decisions and statements.
After appointing himself chairman of the Kennedy Center, Trump reportedly vowed to combat “woke” culture in the arts — starting with a push to revive the Broadway musical Cats. According to leaked plans, Trump believes the Andrew Lloyd Webber classic, which last toured in 2016, would help steer the center’s programming in a “slightly more conservative” direction.
An audio recording obtained by The New York Times captured the former reality star discussing the move, signaling his intent to reshape cultural institutions in his second term.
At the time, critics didn’t hold back. One person mocked: “Tell me he’s never seen Cats without telling me he’s never seen Cats. It’s literally a musical about different types of cats, touches on ageism, and is packed with the kind of ‘woke’ themes people claim to hate.”
Another chimed in: “All those men dancing in heavy makeup and skin-tight Lycra sounds pretty woke to me.”
In the same leaked audio, Trump also dubbed himself “the king of ratings,” in classic Trump fashion.
