Justin Timberlake and Jessica Biel’s 12-year marriage is reportedly under strain, with past controversies and growing distance taking a toll on their relationship. Sources say Timberlake is also frustrated that Biel opted to pursue a new film role instead of accompanying him on his Forget Tomorrow tour, a tour that has received mixed reviews from fans.
Friends close to the couple say Justin Timberlake and Jessica Biel are currently living separate lives as part of a trial separation.
An insider revealed: “Justin is clearly heartbroken, weighed down by the emotional toll of their split. He’s struggling with low ticket sales and tough reviews from his tour, while Jessica is thriving on set, fully immersed in her latest acting role and enjoying the buzz of a new chapter.”
The source added: “Her excitement seems to have only deepened the divide between them, leaving Justin feeling increasingly alone. Those close to them say it may be time for a serious conversation about where their relationship is headed—because this trial separation might be pushing them further apart than they anticipated.”
The looming question remains: can they work through the distance, or are they heading toward divorce?
While Timberlake, 44, finishes the South American leg of his tour, Biel, 43, has been overseas in Europe filming Matchbox, a new project where she’s starring alongside WWE’s John Cena and The Walking Dead’s Danai Gurira.
Timberlake is reportedly going through a rough patch, facing harsh reviews of his tour. Fans have voiced frustration over his decision to focus almost entirely on songs from his latest album, Everything I Thought It Was, instead of performing more of his classic hits. Ticket sales have also been underwhelming at several venues.
Adding to the tension is the fact that this isn’t the couple’s first major relationship hurdle—they weathered a serious crisis back in 2019.
He was photographed getting cozy with Shadowhunters actress and Palmer co-star Alisha Wainwright during a night out in New Orleans. The images, which showed the two holding hands, quickly spread online and stirred controversy.
In response, Timberlake issued a public apology on Instagram, saying:
“A few weeks ago, I displayed a strong lapse in judgment, but let me be clear—nothing happened between me and my co-star. I drank way too much that night and I regret my behavior. I should have known better.
“This is not the example I want to set for my son. I apologize to my amazing wife and family for putting them through such an embarrassing situation, and I am focused on being the best husband and father I can be. This was not that.”
They welcomed their second son, Phineas—now three—after making efforts to mend their relationship. The couple also share their older son, Silas, who is nine.
However, their marriage faced renewed tension last summer when Timberlake was arrested for driving while intoxicated. The incident made international headlines and reportedly left Biel “furious,” further testing their relationship.
