Robin Patrick, a diabetic from Maryland, says Meghan Markle failed to warn viewers about possible health risks in a DIY bath salt recipe shown in With Love, Meghan. After watching the tutorial on X, Patrick recreated the mix—featuring Epsom salt, Himalayan salt, arnica oil, and lavender oil—only to suffer painful burns. She claims Markle had a “duty of care” and is now threatening a $10 million lawsuit. Skincare experts have since cautioned that the blend may be harmful to sensitive users.

Robin Patrick described the terrifying moment her soothing bath turned into a nightmare. “At first, there was just a mild tingling,” she said. “But as the water reached my legs and buttocks, I felt a burning sensation and sharp discomfort.”
After exiting the tub, she stirred the water with her hand—only to suffer more burns. “My hand and arm started burning too,” Patrick recalled. She tried soothing the pain with lotion and lidocaine, but nothing worked. That night, even a simple shower triggered “intense burning” and revealed painful ulcers.
Patrick Says Injuries from Meghan Markle’s Bath Salts Still Causing “Burning From Within”
Robin Patrick says the pain hasn’t stopped. “The burns still haven’t healed and are extremely uncomfortable,” she shared. New sores and blisters continue to appear daily, disrupting her life—she can’t take warm showers or wear clothing over the affected areas.
Living with an autoimmune condition and diabetes, Patrick fears infection or even sepsis. “The pain feels like it’s burning from within,” she said, adding that her dry skin only worsens the risk.
Patrick Demands Settlement—or $10M Lawsuit Against Meghan Markle, Netflix
Robin Patrick says she’s open to settling out of court—but only if a financial agreement is reached. Otherwise, she plans to sue Meghan Markle, Netflix, and Archewell Productions for at least $10 million, accusing them of “reckless disregard for public safety.”
She’s also seeking a minimum of $75,000 to cover medical bills, ongoing pain and suffering, and future treatment for lasting damage, including potential infections or scarring.
A threatening letter to the parties added: “These damages account for emotional distress, potential post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), loss of confidence in appearance, disfigurement, shortened life expectancy, and long-term medical care for injuries that may worsen over time.”
In response to Patrick’s legal threats, Markle’s lawyer, Cameron Stracher, hit back with a stinging rebuke, claiming in a legal letter she should have been aware of the risks of taking the salts which contain ingredients unsuitable for people suffering from diabetes.
