Easing back into her role following last year’s cancer treatment, the princess appeared radiant as she attended the Commonwealth Day service on March 10 at Westminster Abbey in London.
Dressed in a striking red Catherine Walker ensemble with a matching Gina Foster hat, the 43-year-old embraced royal tradition through her choice of statement jewelry.
The mother of three paid homage to her late mother-in-law, Princess Diana, by wearing her iconic Collingwood pearl drop earrings. She also honored Queen Elizabeth II—whose throne she will one day inherit—by adorning a four-strand diamond-and-pearl choker, a treasured piece gifted to Her Majesty during her 1975 state visit to Japan.
An insider shared, “Her choices reflect a deep respect for tradition and underscore the significance of the monarchy. Kate is a part of that history, too.”
Known for their poise and formality, the Princess of Wales and Prince William, 42, have surprised royal watchers with their increasingly warm and approachable demeanor following her illness.
The Commonwealth service was no exception, as the couple—who exchanged vows at Westminster Abbey in 2011—appeared happy and affectionate toward one another.

Earlier this month, Middleton radiated the same joyful spirit as she raised a toast to St. Patrick’s Day with a Guinness.
During a solo visit to the Irish Guards’ St. Patrick’s Day Parade, she was filmed sipping the iconic Irish stout while receiving a formal salute from the Guards, who lifted their Bearskin caps in her honor.
Middleton was unable to attend the event last year while undergoing chemotherapy.
However, in January, she announced she was officially in remission, four months after completing treatment.
She first disclosed her diagnosis in a heartfelt video message in March 2024, following a noticeable absence from public life.
Just months later, speculation about her marriage to Prince William reignited.
Rumors of William’s alleged affair with Rose Hanbury, the Marchioness of Cholmondeley, first emerged in 2019 but resurfaced amid questions surrounding Middleton’s absence.
While the chatter quieted down after she publicly shared her cancer battle, some still alleged that William rekindled his connection with Hanbury—even as his wife fought for her life.
At the time, Kensington Palace dismissed the ongoing speculation as “totally wrong and false.”
