Donald Trump has threatened Elon Musk with “very serious consequences” as their feud grows more intense.
The President dropped a five-word zinger on his former tech ally in a New York Post interview:
“Nothing catches me by surprise.”
Musk once backed Trump’s comeback and even scored a flashy cabinet role:
Head of the Department of Government Efficiency — DOGE.
Things looked good until they had a public falling out.
Tension rose after Musk slammed Trump’s “Big Beautiful Bill,”
a sweeping tax cut package that just passed the Republican-controlled House.
Musk didn’t hold back. He called the bill an “abomination.”
Trump fired back fast.
“He knew the bill as well as anybody,” Trump told the New York Post.
“The bill is great. It’s going to pass.
It’ll be great for everybody — including him.”
He pointed to strong job numbers and a 600-point market surge as proof.
The feud hit a boiling point when Musk claimed Trump appeared in the Jeffrey Epstein files.
That post on X was later deleted.
In a phone interview with NBC’s Kristen Welker, Trump made it clear — the bromance is done.
Asked if it was officially over, he replied,
“I would assume so, yeah.”
“I’m too busy doing other things,” he added.
“I won an election in a landslide.
I gave him a lot of breaks.
I even saved his life in my first term.
I have no intention of speaking to him.”
Trump then raised the stakes.
He warned Musk of “serious consequences” if he backs future Democratic campaigns.
“If he does, he’ll have to pay the consequences,” Trump said, without giving details.
Since Musk’s companies rely heavily on government contracts, Trump’s words go beyond political shade — they sound like a direct threat.
White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt didn’t hold back either.
She told CNN:
“This is an unfortunate episode from Elon,
who’s upset the One Big Beautiful Bill doesn’t include the policies he wanted.
The President is focused on passing this historic legislation and making our country great again.”
On Hannity, she added:
“Just days ago, Elon praised the president for cutting waste and fraud —
which this bill does.”
She continued:
“Elon has every right to speak as a businessman.
But as president, Trump has a duty to fight for this country.”
