President Donald Trump drew attention online after misspelling his own name in a Truth Social post.
The post referred to recent U.S. military strikes on three nuclear sites in Iran, carried out under his direction.
These strikes came as tensions in the Middle East escalated.
Just days earlier, Trump said he’d decide within two weeks on possible U.S. involvement in the Israel-Iran conflict.
On Truth Social, Trump praised U.S. military personnel for the weekend’s operation.
He wrote: “The GREAT B-2 pilots have just landed, safely, in Missouri. Thank you for a job well done!!!”
He ended the post with a signature that read:
“DONAKD J. TRUMP, PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES!”
The typo quickly spread across social media, sparking criticism and concern.
Commentators and the public noted the oddity of misspelling his own name, especially in a serious post.
Critics questioned the oversight.
One user wrote:
“Beginning to worry that the guy who can’t even spell his own name isn’t doing rigorous research before starting a war.”
Another added:
“He can’t even spell his own damn name.”
Some users noted the double standard in political coverage.
“If Joe Biden had misspelled his own name in a tweet, Fox would call for his removal and run it 24/7,” one wrote.
While the ‘K’ and ‘L’ keys are close on a keyboard, many still expected more care—especially during such a tense situation.
The original post was deleted and corrected about nine minutes later.
But by then, screenshots had already captured and preserved the mistake on social media.
Some users compared the typo to Trump’s past mistakes, including the infamous “covfefe” tweet from 2017.
Since his 2021 Twitter suspension, Trump has relied on Truth Social as his main platform.
His Twitter (now X) account was reinstated in 2022, but he still posts primarily on Truth.
His online activity continues to spark both support and criticism.
Trump remains a key figure in the Republican Party and U.S. politics.
Meanwhile, the Middle East situation remains tense.
Observers are watching closely after Iran’s recent attack on a U.S. military base in Qatar.
