At the 2024 Globe Soccer Awards in Dubai, Ronaldo surprised many by saying, “It’s a big pleasure to win this trophy. My oldest son is here, my wife [Georgina] is here,” as he invited both his eldest son and Georgina to join him in celebrating the award.
Ronaldo has casually called Georgina his wife on several occasions.
During a playful “Mr. and Mrs.” game on his YouTube channel last year, he once again referred to her as his wife, and both were seen wearing what appeared to be wedding rings.
He also mentioned it during an appearance on the WHOOP podcast, saying: “In the morning, I take my coffee, speak with my kids, with my wife, and start the day.”
While Ronaldo has dropped numerous hints about a future wedding with Georgina, an official ceremony has yet to be confirmed.
Georgina revealed that her friends constantly tease her about not being married yet.
“They’re always joking about the wedding,” she shared on her Netflix series I Am Georgina. “‘When is the wedding?’ Ever since Jennifer Lopez’s song ‘The Ring’ came out, they’ve been singing it to me. But the decision to get married isn’t entirely up to me.”
That comment fueled even more speculation about the real dynamics behind their relationship.
From the start, both Ronaldo and Georgina have avoided providing a clear reason for postponing their marriage.
In a recent Netflix clip, Georgina captures Ronaldo openly discussing marriage for the first time in front of viewers.
Speaking candidly about the subject, Ronaldo explained: “I always tell her, ‘when we feel that click.’ Just like everything else in our life—and she understands exactly what I mean.”
He went on to say that the timing remains uncertain, suggesting it could happen “next month, in six months, or even in a year. But I’m 1000% certain it will happen.”
And just like that, the elusive “click” remains the defining factor.
