Christina Sandera, partner of Oscar-winning actor and director Clint Eastwood, has died at 61.
Eastwood, 94, confirmed the news to BBC News.
“Christina was a lovely, caring woman and an important part of my life,” he said.
“I’ll miss her very much,” he added.
They were together for ten years.
Her cause of death has not been disclosed.
Though private, the couple appeared in public often—
on red carpets for The Mule and The 15:17 to Paris.
In 2016, they attended a Sully screening in Los Angeles.
In 2015, they appeared at a garden party supporting animal rescue efforts.
Clint Eastwood is one of Hollywood’s most recognizable stars, known for action and western hero roles.
His spaghetti westerns redefined the genre.
He gained worldwide fame as Harry Callahan in five Dirty Harry films during the ’70s and ’80s.
As an actor and director, he moved beyond those roles, exploring comedy and serious biopics.
With a career spanning seven decades, Eastwood has won multiple Academy and Golden Globe Awards.
His 40th film as a director, Juror No. 2, is now in postproduction.
He was married twice—first to model Margaret Neville Johnson, then to TV anchor Dina Ruiz.
His marriage to Ruiz ended in 2014.
