Chrissy Metz revealed her 100-pound weight loss while wearing a colorful dress. She said, “I want to age the best way I can, and I want to be strong.”
At Variety’s Power of Women event in Nashville on May 1, Chrissy Metz, 44, stunned in a vibrant, ruffle-trimmed dress that showcased her 100-pound weight loss.
The dress, featuring pink, blue, and yellow hues, a ruffled V-neckline, and three-quarter-length sleeves, was paired with white cowboy boots and a pearl-and-silver necklace.
Her glowing pink makeup and soft, beachy waves completed the look.
In a recent interview, Metz shared that strength training and a dedication to long-term health helped her achieve her weight loss milestone.
She also joked, “I don’t want to run unless I’m being chased.”
For Chrissy Metz, her transformation isn’t about a specific number on the scale.
Instead, it’s about aging well and becoming stronger.
She explained, “I want to age the best way that I can, and I want to be strong. And that’s really the impetus behind any of it.”
Metz also addressed the Ozempic buzz, a weight-loss drug popular with celebrities.
While she didn’t confirm or deny using it, she emphasized the need for compassion in conversations surrounding the drug.
“It’s people’s personal decision,” she noted.
Chrissy Metz emphasized the importance of destigmatizing personal choices when it comes to health.
“It’s so personal, and I think it’s important to destigmatize anything,” she shared.
“But ultimately, it’s people’s personal decision to decide what they want to do for their body. At the end of the day, we just want to feel good and feel good about ourselves.”
Metz has always been open about her body and the challenges she’s faced.
In 2018, she shared with Glamour that it took years to feel confident enough to wear a swimsuit in public.
“I grew up wearing a T-shirt at the pool,” she recalled, adding, “As an adult, I was like, ‘I’m gonna find a bathing suit I like and I’m gonna wear it.’
” During a trip to Barbados, she proudly wore a black Lane Bryant swimsuit and posted a photo on Instagram, drawing a mix of empowering and awkward responses. “
There were people like, ‘Oh my God, look at you! You know I could never do that,'” she said.
“It’s a backhanded compliment, but I’m doing what I want to do.”
Chrissy Metz recently shared how her move from Los Angeles to Nashville has brought a refreshing change to her life.
After spending 21 years in L.A., she found the move to be a welcome shift.
“It’s just a better quality of life here,” she said in an interview with PEOPLE.
“Everything is 15 minutes away, and it’s just so much less stress.”
Metz, originally from Florida, also appreciates the Southern hospitality and laid-back vibe of her new home.
“It feels more communal here,” she explained, contrasting it with L.A.’s competitive, “dog-eat-dog” energy.
“There’s a lot going on. Great music, great food,” she added, noting that the move also brought her closer to family during the pandemic.
