Bebe Rexha has shared the emotional experience of her pregnancy loss, following body-shaming remarks from rapper Azealia Banks after her Met Gala debut.
Bebe Rexha, 35, made her debut at the 2025 Met Gala on May 5, turning heads in a curve-hugging Christian Siriano gown with a dramatic tulle skirt.
The event’s theme, “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style,” aligned with the museum’s spring 2025 exhibition on the Black dandy as both a concept and identity.
Speaking with Entertainment Tonight, Rexha highlighted dandyism’s focus on “structured jackets” and praised Siriano for consistently making her look stunning.
Bebe Rexha, the “I’m Good” songstress, shared her excitement on Instagram with a photo captioned: “My first Met Gala.”
However, the joy quickly turned to anguish when online trolls began criticizing her appearance.
One particularly harsh comment came from rapper Azealia Banks, 33, who posted on X, saying, “Sis gives me – hormonal birth control implant or something,” and added, “It’s giving implanon/nuvaring she needs removed or depo shot that needs to stop happening (I’m not even tryna play her).”
This remark sparked widespread backlash.
In a now-deleted post reported by Page Six, Bebe Rexha responded to the cruel comments about her weight and shared the deeply personal reason behind her changes.
She wrote, “I’m so tired of people commenting on my weight.
I have PCOS [polycystic ovary syndrome] and struggle with infertility.”
Rexha then revealed that she had been pregnant, but it ended in loss, adding, “I’ve been carrying that pain in silence.”
She urged people to reconsider commenting on others’ bodies.
Addressing Azealia Banks directly, Rexha said, “And you might wanna jump on some type of therapy, sis,” adding, “Lexapro worked great for me.”
Bebe Rexha did not disclose when the pregnancy loss occurred or who the father was, but her heartfelt revelation prompted an outpouring of love from fans.
One supporter shared, “I’m sorry for the loss of your baby. Deepest sympathies.”
Many directed their attention to Azealia Banks, calling for accountability.
One person said, “You never know what someone is going through.
Azealia was foul for posting this.
Comment on the fashion, not the person’s physical appearance or body shame.” Rexha later returned to social media, writing, “Ok, I’m gonna go and enjoy my day now. Have a good day, everyone love you.”
