A woman has tragically died after being “violently ejected by a revolving door at the Trump hotel,” according to her family.
Diana Truschke, 78, was visiting the Trump International Hotel in Las Vegas on March 21, 2023, when a broken revolving door hit her in the back and pushed her forward several feet.
The lawsuit says that because of this, Ms. Truschke was thrown from the door, landing face-first on the sidewalk.
The lawsuit also says that Truschke, who lived in the San Francisco Bay Area, was seriously hurt and had to get “extensive medical treatment” after being taken to the hospital.
She passed away on October 14, 2024, from “complications from her injuries.” Her health had “gotten worse” in the months after the incident, the lawsuit says.
Truschke’s family now says that Trump International didn’t keep its revolving door safe and claims hotel staff knew the door wasn’t working right. The court papers also say the hotel did not follow safety rules.
The wrongful death lawsuit is asking for more than $15,000 in damages for things like loss of comfort and companionship, economic damages, future earnings, medical bills, funeral costs, physical pain, emotional pain, and other damages.
A hearing has not been set yet.
Trump International Hotel is located on Fashion Show Drive in Las Vegas and is managed by the Trump Organization, the company behind former President Donald Trump’s business ventures.
Since Donald Trump’s first election in 2016, his sons, Donald Trump Jr. and Eric Trump, have been executive vice presidents in charge of operations.
The hotel, which has 64 stories and is decorated with gold trim, opened in 2008. It cost Donald Trump and casino mogul Phil Ruffin, who owns half of the hotel, $300 million to build.
