President Trump urged his MAGA supporters to drop their focus on Jeffrey Epstein and back his administration’s agenda.
He posted this plea on Truth Social after facing backlash over the “Epstein Files” and tensions with key allies.
“What’s going on with my ‘boys’ and, in some cases, ‘gals’?” Trump wrote on July 12.
“They’re all going after Attorney General Pam Bondi, who is doing a FANTASTIC JOB!
We’re on one Team, MAGA, and I don’t like what’s happening.”
Trump defended Bondi after far-right influencers called for her removal.
Former adviser Laura Loomer called Bondi “an embarrassment” and blamed her for GOP losses.
The controversy grew after the Justice Department ruled Epstein’s death a suicide.
They also denied the existence of a secret “client list,”
contradicting years of speculation, according to BBC News.
President Trump rejected the Epstein documents as fake, blaming political enemies for creating them.
“They created the Epstein Files, just like they created the FAKE Hillary Clinton/Christopher Steele Dossier,” he said.
“Now my so-called ‘friends’ are playing right into their hands.”
He called the controversy a distraction from his administration’s goals.
“Let’s keep [America] the ‘HOTTEST’ Country anywhere in the World,
and not waste Time and Energy on Jeffrey Epstein, somebody that nobody cares about.”
FBI Rift and MAGA Backlash
The issue has rattled Trump’s inner circle.
Axios reported that FBI Deputy Director Dan Bongino missed work Friday after a dispute with Bondi.
Bongino and FBI Director Kash Patel have clashed with the administration over Epstein document releases.
The DOJ and FBI released a memo denying Epstein blackmailed elites or kept a “client list.”
They confirmed Epstein died by suicide in 2019 and said no more documents would be released.
MAGA supporters didn’t buy it.
Right-wing voice Rogan O’Handley called the DOJ memo “a shameful coverup to protect the most heinous elites.”
Others accused Trump of betraying them.
At a youth conservative event Friday, Steve Bannon echoed the outrage.
One attendee even claimed Trump had “become the deep state.”
Trump fired back.
He called the Epstein narrative a trap by “Obama, Crooked Hillary, Comey, Brennan, and the Losers and Criminals of the Biden Administration.”
He urged supporters to focus on election fraud—not “Radical Left inspired Documents on Jeffrey Epstein.”
Trump’s post came weeks after Elon Musk claimed on X,
“Trump is in the Epstein files. That is the real reason they have not been made public.”
Attorney General Pam Bondi once hinted at big revelations.
In a February Fox News interview, she said Epstein’s client list was “sitting on my desk,” according to The Independent.
But after the DOJ memo and mounting backlash, she changed her tune.
Bondi confirmed Epstein died by suicide and denied any damning list existed.
Recently, she told reporters the FBI was reviewing “tens of thousands of videos of Epstein with children or child p*rn,”
but offered no evidence to back the claim.
Her shifting stance has frustrated Trump loyalists.
Rep. Anna Paulina Luna wrote on X that the disclosures were “a complete disappointment.”
The White House later clarified that Bondi referred broadly to Epstein-related files, not a specific client list.
Officials said some documents were withheld due to their “incredibly graphic” content.
Trump: “Nobody Cares About Epstein”
On Saturday, Trump dismissed the controversy.
“Why are we giving publicity to Files written by… the Losers and Criminals of the Biden Administration?” he asked.
“If there was ANYTHING in there that could have hurt the MAGA Movement, why didn’t they use it?”
He backed Bondi strongly.
“LET PAM BONDI DO HER JOB — SHE’S GREAT!” Trump wrote.
He said she’s investigating the “Rigged and Stolen” 2020 election and similar 2024 efforts.
Trump urged supporters to ignore “selfish people” causing division.
He questioned why anyone would focus on Epstein when his team “achieved more in 6 months than any Administration in over 100 years.”
When asked about the DOJ memo earlier in the week, Trump snapped,
“Are you still talking about Jeffrey Epstein? This guy’s been talked about for years… That is unbelievable.”
Here’s your rephrased version, following your style rules:
The MAGA Movement at a Crossroads
Trump’s response shows a growing rift in his movement.
Some factions still demand accountability for elites they believe are protected.
Epstein’s case has long sparked conspiracy theories across the political spectrum.
Its political weight has only grown under each administration.
As Trump gears up for a rocky re-election run, he’s trying to shift focus.
“Let’s not waste Time and Energy on Jeffrey Epstein,” he said. “Somebody that nobody cares about.”
Trump’s Supporters Hit Back
Many MAGA supporters felt betrayed by Trump’s Truth Social post.
“This statement breaks my heart, Mr. President,” one supporter wrote.
“I have four daughters, and live in Texas, where families lost little children.
I can’t even begin to comprehend the flipped narrative that
‘it was so long ago,’ ‘why are we still talking about this,’ and ‘nobody should care.’
These victims were someone’s daughters, sisters, nieces, granddaughters.
Someone’s child. Please reconsider, sir.”
Another follower wrote:
“We want the ELITE P*DOS exposed! You promised us that.
Pam promised us that. Kash promised us that.
Now it’s OUR fault because we want that promise fulfilled and call Pam out every time she lies?
What else has she lied to us about?”
A third supporter replied:
“This will cost you so many supporters. I’m one of them.
I’ve been to multiple rallies and was there on J6.
This is one of the main things that needs fixing.
Our two-tiered system of justice must end. We the people are tired of it.”
