Iranian state media posted a chilling image of President Donald Trump on its social media pages.
Many see it as an ominous threat to the United States.
On Monday, June 24, Iran launched a missile strike on a U.S. military base in Qatar.
Officials said it was retaliation for recent American airstrikes on three Iranian nuclear facilities.
The strike targeted Al Udeid Air Base, home to U.S. and coalition forces.
It also serves as the headquarters of the Combined Air Operations Center.
Qatar’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs said its air defense systems intercepted the missiles.
They called the attack “a flagrant violation of Qatar’s sovereignty, its airspace, and international law,” according to BBC News.
Iranian state media said the number of missiles matched the bombs the U.S. used in strikes on Fordow, Natanz, and Esfahan.
Iran called the missile attack a proportional response to U.S. aggression, according to The Independent.
No casualties have been reported.
U.S. officials haven’t confirmed the full damage, but CNN noted Iran gave a warning before the strike, which may have reduced the impact.
President Trump responded on Truth Social:
“Most importantly, they’ve gotten it all out of their ‘system,’ and there will, hopefully, be no further HATE.”
He added: “Congratulations world, it’s time for peace.”
Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian also weighed in on X:
“We neither initiated the war nor are seeking it. But we will not leave invasion to the great Iran without answer.”
Meanwhile, Iran News Agency posted a digitally altered image on Telegram.
It showed Trump’s head engulfed in flames at the tip of a burning match over a U.S. flag.
The caption read: “The reckoning. It won’t be long before you pay for what you’ve done.”
As of now, U.S. officials have not formally responded to the threatening image shared by Iranian state media.
The tension stems from recent U.S. airstrikes on Iranian nuclear sites.
In a televised address, President Trump said:
“Our objective was the destruction of Iran’s nuclear enrichment capacity and a stop to the nuclear threat.
Tonight, I can report to the world that the strikes were a spectacular military success.”
Iran responded by airing footage of its missile launch with martial music, calling it “a mighty and successful response” to the U.S. assault.
Hours after the 79-year-old president announced a ceasefire Tuesday morning, Iran escalated tensions with Israel.
Iranian forces fired missiles toward northern Israel.
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said its air defense systems intercepted the attacks.
They warned civilians:
“The public is requested to follow the instructions of the Home Front Command.
At this time, the Air Force is operating to intercept and strike wherever necessary to eliminate the threat,” according to Fox News.
Iran claimed its retaliation ended at 4:00 AM, but by 6:00 AM, missile sirens sounded again.
One missile hit a residential building in southern Israel, killing four civilians and injuring at least a dozen more.
According to BBC News, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said:
“Israel will respond forcefully to any violation of the ceasefire.”
He stated that the Rising Lion campaign had “removed the dual immediate existential threat” from Iran’s nuclear weapons and ballistic missiles.
Now in its twelfth day, the conflict has taken a heavy toll on both sides.
Human Rights Activists, cited by the Associated Press, reported that Israeli strikes have killed at least 950 people in Iran.
An additional 3,450 have been injured.
The casualties include both military personnel and civilians.
