Donald Trump wasted no time reacting to Joe Biden’s cancer news — and turned the moment into a flex about his own health.
Speaking to reporters on Monday, May 19, Trump wrongly claimed Biden had “stage 9” prostate cancer — a stage that doesn’t even exist. He then shifted focus to himself, proudly declaring he recently passed his physical with flying colors.
Trump Reacts to Biden’s Cancer Battle — and Brags About His Own Health
MAJOR BREAKING: In a cruel and clueless moment, Trump says Biden’s cancer surprised him because it takes a long time to “get to stage 9” cancer. Cancer goes to stage 4. Then he brags he “aced” his cognitive test. Is Trump the dumbest president alive? pic.twitter.com/yOqNKq1h3B

Trump expressed sympathy, but quickly questioned the transparency around Biden’s illness.
“I think it’s very sad, actually,” he said. “I’m surprised the public wasn’t notified a long time ago. Because to get to stage 9 — that’s a long time.”
There’s just one problem: there is no stage 9. Biden’s cancer is classified as stage 4, meaning it’s advanced and has spread. The confusion likely came from his Gleason score of 9, which signals aggressive prostate cancer — not a cancer stage.
Still, Trump pivoted the conversation to himself, boasting, “I just had a physical — the best numbers they’ve ever seen.”
From sympathy to self-congratulation — Trump makes Biden’s diagnosis about his own ‘perfect’ health.
Trump veered off-topic to spotlight his own health, saying,
“I just had my physical. You saw the results — a standard test for anyone getting a good check-up.”
He added,
“We had top doctors from the White House and Walter Reed — an amazing hospital. I did a full physical, including cognitive tests. And I’m proud to say I aced it. Got them all right.”
Then, in typical Trump fashion, he turned up the bravado, joking,
“You proud of me? Your husband would be proud of me for getting them all right.”
His comments quickly stirred reactions online — critics called it tone-deaf, while supporters praised his confidence.
Trump claimed he’d face major backlash if he hadn’t passed his cognitive test.
“People would be after me if I didn’t get them all right,” he said. “It would be not a good situation.”
He then pushed for mental fitness exams for all presidential candidates.
“I think anyone running for president should take a cognitive test,” Trump argued.
“They say it’s unconstitutional, but in this case, it wouldn’t be so bad.”
Before wrapping up, Trump questioned how Biden’s cancer diagnosis stayed hidden for so long, once again casting doubt on the transparency of the current administration.
Trump doubled down on his incorrect claim, saying, “When you take tests, medical, as a male, that test is very standard… It takes a long time to get to that situation. To get to stage 9,” once again mislabeling Biden’s stage 4 prostate cancer.
He then took aim at Biden’s physician, casting doubt on his credibility.
“It’s the same doctor that said Joe was cognitively fine. There was nothing wrong with him,” Trump said.
“If it was the same doctor, he said there was nothing wrong there — and that’s being proven to be a sad situation.”
His remarks sparked new criticism toward Biden’s medical team and how they’ve handled updates on the president’s health.
Dr. Kevin O’Connor, who has served as Joe Biden’s personal physician for years—including throughout his time as vice president and now president—is under fire following the announcement of Biden’s cancer diagnosis.
Since news broke that Biden’s prostate cancer had spread to his bones, critics have swarmed online, accusing Dr. O’Connor of keeping the public in the dark. Some skeptics claim he downplayed the president’s condition, while others question whether his oversight delayed the detection of the aggressive cancer.
The mounting backlash has intensified scrutiny over how Biden’s health has been handled behind closed doors.
