White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt offered a rare behind-the-scenes tour of President Donald Trump’s official residence.
In a special interview with TikTok influencer Kate Mackz, known for her running content, Leavitt switched gears and welcomed viewers inside the historic 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue — giving a personal look at the White House like never before.
@katemackz From being at the White House last year speaking on a mental health panel and meeting President Biden, to being back again this year — thank you for having us. Truly surreal to walk through a place with so much history and meaning. 🩵

The video kicked off with Kate Mackz asking her trademark question, “How many miles are you running today?” Karoline Leavitt smiled and responded, “No miles because we’re at the beautiful White House — but how about a tour instead?”
Dressed in a chic butter-yellow sleeveless vest and matching trousers, Leavitt led the impromptu walkthrough, introducing herself before diving into key areas of the White House grounds, including the famous West Wing.
They began the tour outside, where Leavitt pointed out, “We’re walking on what we call Pebble Beach,” referring to the area where press outlets set up their stations just outside the historic building.
As the TikTok creator admired the White House’s stunning grounds, she asked Karoline Leavitt if her job felt like a “dream come true.” Leavitt beamed and replied, “It is a dream come true.”
She then explained her daily responsibilities as Press Secretary, giving viewers a glimpse into her fast-paced schedule. The tour continued into her “favorite” spot — the iconic James S. Brady Briefing Room.
Mackz commented on how “intimate” the space felt. Leavitt responded, “We need to make it bigger to allow more voices in.” That remark struck a chord, given the Trump administration’s past efforts to exclude liberal media from press briefings — often limiting access to right-leaning outlets and influencers.
As they strolled through the White House grounds, Karoline Leavitt paused to showcase the “lower press” wing — the workspace for her team.
Next, she brought Mackz into her office. Inside, photos of Leavitt and former President Trump lined the walls. One standout item? A meme she proudly displayed. It showed a man pointing at a brain with the caption: “No thanks. I won’t be needing that. I believe everything the legacy media shows.”
With a smirk, Leavitt said, “We want critical thinking around here.”
After stepping out of her office, Karoline Leavitt pointed to a red Tesla parked nearby. “This is the president’s Tesla,” she said. “He’s generously told staff we can take it out if we want.” The moment raised eyebrows.
But the backlash came fast — not for the Tesla, but for the collaboration.
Kate Mackz’s followers flooded the comments section with disappointment. One top comment, “Oh, Kate. This is so disappointing,” gained over 50,000 likes. Others questioned her decision to film with Leavitt, especially after the press secretary’s comments about “more voices” in the briefing room.
Critics were quick to point out the contradiction. One user wrote, “Didn’t she literally want to ban opposing sides in that room?” Another added, “This administration is trying to defund public media. Giving their mouthpiece more of a platform is NOT IT.”
