Jennifer Lopez reportedly turned into a fierce mama bear during a recent outing with her child Emme, prompting fans to praise her continued support for her children.
On March 23, 55-year-old Jennifer Lopez attended the Broadway opening of Othello with her 17-year-old child Emme.
They posed outside the Barrymore Theatre in matching black and gray outfits.
Lopez wore a two-piece look that showed her midriff, pairing a cropped top with a long skirt and fur coat.
She finished the look with a chic bun. Emme chose a relaxed, stylish outfit that perfectly complemented Lopez’s ensemble.
But their red carpet style wasn’t the only thing grabbing attention.
An eyewitness told Page Six that Lopez snapped into full “mama bear” mode when a paparazzo shoved a large camera in Emme’s face.
“She went mama bear,” the source said, adding that Lopez yelled at the photographer for getting too close to her child.
The moment struck a chord with fans, especially those aware of Lopez’s support for Emme’s non-binary identity.
Back in 2022, Lopez introduced Emme on stage at the Blue Diamond Gala using they/them pronouns — and the clip went viral.
She said, “The last time we performed together was in a big stadium like this. I ask them to sing with me all the time, and they won’t.”
With a smile, she added, “They’re very busy, booked, and pricey. But they’re worth every penny. They’re my favorite duet partner of all time.”
The touching moment quickly spread online and drew praise from fans.
One user posted on X: “JLo, you are a wonderful mother and you both sang beautifully.”
Another wrote: “’They’ is how Emme identifies. JLo sharing that is beautiful. Love seeing her support her child.”
A third added: “Awww JLo respecting the pronouns,” while someone else simply said: “Aw I love her support.”
Lopez shares Emme and twin brother Max with her ex-husband Marc Anthony, whom she married in 2004 and divorced in 2014.
They’ve performed together publicly before, but the 2022 gala marked a shift in public awareness of Emme’s gender identity—and Lopez’s clear support.
Despite the tense moment with the paparazzo at the Othello premiere, Lopez and Emme seemed to enjoy their evening.
Later, Lopez posted a sweet photo of them on Instagram with the caption: “Othello premiere with the best date ever.”
