Hollywood often plays a role in helping longtime stars reinvent their public image, especially those with decades of experience in the industry.
Denise Richards made headlines with an unexpected career move—joining OnlyFans, a decision few had predicted.
The former Bond girl, known for her roles in The World Is Not Enough and other major productions, ventured into online content creation in 2022.
Inspired by her daughter Sami Sheen’s success on the platform after turning 18, Richards recognized the potential of OnlyFans and embraced the opportunity.
When Richards realized the platform’s financial potential, she fully embraced the opportunity and launched her own OnlyFans account.
“I will say that I’m in the top 1% of creators on OnlyFans, so I am very grateful,” she revealed on the March 25 episode of Denise Richards & Her Wild Things.
She added, “It’s very empowering, especially for someone my age, that people still want to see me that way.”
Since launching her OnlyFans page, Richards has had the support of her husband, Aaron Phypers, who has helped her throughout the content creation process.
Since their wedding in 2018, Aaron Phypers has played an active role in managing Richards’ OnlyFans page, even guiding its creative direction.
“He’s so supportive,” Richards shared. “He knows what men love, and he’ll go through all the photos and say, ‘This is good. Do this. This is what guys like.’”
Although she now feels confident in her decision, Richards admitted she was initially hesitant.
Before joining the platform, she feared that the association with adult content might negatively impact her acting career.
“When I joined OnlyFans, I was very concerned that I might lose some jobs,” Richards admitted. “But it was the opposite.”
To her surprise, the platform opened new opportunities. “I get roles where I’m like the trophy wife or the sexy one,” she explained.
However, her daughter Sami has faced a different experience in the modeling industry. Unlike her mother, who found new career prospects through OnlyFans, Sami has encountered resistance.
“I’ve met with a couple of agencies, and they don’t like that I do OnlyFans,” Sami shared on the show. “It’s so frustrating because that’s how I pay my rent.”
She added, “If they took me seriously, I wouldn’t have to do it anymore.”
Richards openly acknowledges the double standard between her and her daughter Sami’s experiences with OnlyFans.
“I think it’s a double standard,” she said. “I can join OnlyFans and actually get more offers.”
“But my daughter? Modeling agencies won’t sign her because she’s on OnlyFans. That’s the shame of it.”
She questioned the judgment placed on creators like Sami. “Why judge them for trying to make a living while pursuing their careers?”
For Richards, OnlyFans is more than just a source of income—it’s a platform that allows her to build meaningful connections with her followers.
“People think that I’m just doing whatever—that’s not true,” Richards clarified. “I actually see it as a way of communicating with fans, and not in the way people assume.”
Despite launching an unconventional project with her husband’s support, her acting career has seen impressive growth.
