Hollywood actress Blake Lively is making headlines today—not for her films or fashion, but for controversy.
During her recent trip to Texas, Lively found herself at the center of a new dispute after a hotel guest shared their unexpected encounter with her.
In March 2025, Houston resident Kaitlyn Cooper and her mother checked into Hotel 1928 in Waco, Texas, for what was supposed to be a relaxing getaway.
However, their peaceful vacation took an unexpected turn when whispers of a high-profile guest at the hotel began to spread.
Cooper told the Daily Mail that hotel staff subtly hinted at a notable guest, mentioning, “If we hung out and stuck around, we might see this person.”
Intrigued, Cooper and her mother decided to linger in the lobby—and their patience paid off when they caught a glimpse of Blake Lively at the hotel.
“She was super loud. Her voice was extremely recognizable,” Cooper recalled, describing the moment she spotted Blake Lively.
According to Cooper, a hotel employee at the reception seemed to be encouraging guests to take notice.
“She looked at us. My friend was recording a video on her phone and later showed it to her contacts when she realized we had noticed her,” Cooper added.
The video shows Lively walking through the hotel reception in casual attire, approaching the camera, and quickly covering her face.
During her stay, she was accompanied by an assistant, security personnel, and a staff member, while her children were in the care of someone Cooper assumed was a nanny.
With security leading the way, Lively and her team moved through the hotel undisturbed after briefly acknowledging the cameras.
However, the next morning took an unexpected and “bizarre” turn, leaving Cooper and her mother feeling unsettled and confused.
As Cooper and her mother were loading their bags into their car to check out, she heard someone say, “Hi.” When she looked up, she was shocked to see Blake Lively standing nearby.
“She was holding up her phone, seemingly recording me. My instinct was to respond, but I honestly had no idea what to say,” Cooper recalled.
Moments later, the actress walked closer to their car, filming them before appearing to focus on their vehicle’s registration number.
“She then handed her phone to her security guy, and he took another lap around the passenger side. After that, they both went back inside the hotel,” Cooper added.
“We were just confused about what was happening,” Cooper admitted.
Shortly after stepping into the elevator, she noticed that her Instagram story was being viewed by accounts linked to Lively’s team and a hotel staff member.
Ironically, the same security staffer who had casually hinted at the celebrity’s presence the day before was now among those monitoring her online activity.
“The brief interaction ended up on my feed, and suddenly, I was being hit with unexpected online attacks from people just trying to get my attention,” Cooper said.
“They were so harsh. I just wanted to share the strangest experience of my life with others.”
Cooper also felt that her social media activity was being closely monitored, describing the behavior as “paranoid” and unsettling—especially coming from someone she had once admired.
What could have been a fleeting, humorous encounter instead gained widespread attention due to Lively’s ongoing legal troubles.
The actress is currently at the center of a highly publicized lawsuit involving her It Ends With Us co-star, Justin Baldoni, whom she has accused of sexual harassment and orchestrating a “social manipulation” campaign against her.
In response, Baldoni has filed his own lawsuit against Lively, her husband Ryan Reynolds’ publicist Leslie Sloane, and Vision PR, alleging intentional misconduct.
