Stedman Pearson, a well-known member of the British pop and R&B group Five Star, has passed away at the age of 60, according to The Daily Mail.
He rose to fame in the 1980s as part of the group formed by his father, Buster Pearson, alongside his siblings. The group sought to replicate the success of The Jackson 5.
Five Star Achievements and Stedman Pearson’s Legacy
Five Star achieved several chart-topping hits, including “System Addict,” “Can’t Wait Another Minute,” and “Rain or Shine.” In 1987, they won the Brit Award for Best British Group. The band was also known for their synchronized dance routines and glamorous matching costumes, many of which were designed by Stedman himself, reflecting his background in dance and fashion.
After Five Star disbanded in 1995, Stedman continued to perform with his sisters until 2006, with a final reunion in 2012.
Stedman later expanded his career by managing a limousine hire service, working as a dance teacher, and making appearances on television programs such as Channel 5’s All Star Talent Show in 2006 and BBC’s Celebrity Scissorhands in 2008. His Twitter bio also revealed that he was a solo recording artist and remained active in the fashion industry.

A third person shared, “Woke up to learn of my friend’s passing… HE was one of the gentlest and loveliest people I knew… an awesome dancer with a childlike zest for life. You made a huge difference to my life and will be missed dearly!!!”
Finally, one person wrote, “This week I received the sad news that Stedman Pearson, the eldest of the famous Five Star eighties/nineties family quintet, has passed. I got to know him very well over 14 years before being entrusted with his unpublished biography, which was recently completed. RIP Sted.”
